Emanuele Callegari is a professor of Mathematical Analysis at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, where he is also involved in activities related to the Mathematics Olympiads.
Since 2006, he has been a member of the Olympiad Commission of the Italian Mathematical Union (UMI).
When he was a high school student, he achieved excellent results in mathematics competitions:
- first and fourth place at the national finals of the Mathematics Olympiad
- member of the Italian team at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in 1985 and 1986
His preferred olympiad field is combinatorics.
One of the best starting points for students who want to begin studying olympiad mathematics is his course.
The course is available here: 🎬 https://www.problemisvolti.it/CorsoBaseOlimpiadiMatematica.html
It is a series of introductory video lectures designed for students approaching the Mathematics Olympiads for the first time.
The recommendation is to follow the lessons in order, from the first to the last, in order to gradually build a solid theoretical foundation.
Materials from Olympiad Training Camps
In addition to the introductory course, Prof. Callegari has also made available several teaching materials used during olympiad training camps.
These materials are available here: 📄 https://www.problemisvolti.it/StageOlimpiadiMatematica.html
They consist of lecture notes and materials used in training camps for the Mathematics Olympiads, which are very useful for studying several topics in greater depth.
