Prof. Massimo Gobbino is a full professor of Mathematical Analysis at the University of Pisa.
For more than twenty-five years he has been involved in the training, selection, and mentoring of Italian students for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
In 1987 he won the Italian Mathematics Olympiad and in the same year he participated in the International Mathematical Olympiad, earning a bronze medal.
Over the years, Prof. Massimo Gobbino has produced a large amount of material for Mathematics Olympiad preparation.
An important part of this material is collected on the website called Olympiad Training.
The website is available here: 🔗 http://pagine.dm.unipi.it/gobbino/Home_Page/OT_Index.html
The site contains several useful resources for olympiad training.
Problem collection
One of the most useful sections is the exercise page, where many problems used during training camps and educational activities are collected.
Much of the material comes from national training camps organized within the Mathematics Olympiad project and is very useful for students who want to practice olympiad-level problems.
Training camp video lectures
Another particularly valuable resource is the collection of video lectures recorded during various training camps.
The video lectures are available here: 🎬 http://olimpiadi.dm.unibo.it/videolezioni/
This page includes several collections of lectures, including:
- StageLocali ▸ video lectures from local training camps
- Training ▸ video lectures from national training camps
This is an extremely rich resource: the lessons cover many of the fundamental topics of olympiad mathematics and allow students to follow high-level explanations directly from trainers in the Italian olympiad community.
In short, it is a very valuable resource for students who want to deepen their olympiad preparation.
The “Olympiad Sheets”
Another well-known resource for olympiad preparation is the book Olympiad Sheets for the Preparation for the Mathematics Olympiads, written by Massimo Gobbino.

ISBN: 978-88-96336-33-5
https://umi.dm.unibo.it/prodotto/schede-olimpiche/ (or available during the national final in Cesenatico)
The book is designed as a compact collection of useful tools for olympiad preparation.
As the author writes, it is:
a collection of tools, a ‘cheat sheet’.
The text contains, in a very concise form and without proofs:
- statements of important theorems
- useful formulas
- recurring tools used in solving olympiad problems
It is therefore particularly useful as a quick reference manual during study or training.
According to many students and trainers in the olympiad community, it is a true must-have for anyone who wants to prepare seriously for the competitions.
